Juneau Winter - aka: Freaking Winter Wonderland

A has been off to Bethel for a week now, and it has snowed almost every day since he's been gone, with the exception of last night/today. It was absolutely beautiful today, and he asked me to take pictures, since it probably won't be like this by the time he gets home.

This picture was taken at lunch time and looks down the parking lot from my office. It is pretty rare for Juneau to have such a bright blue sky. And I love the snow on the trees.

This is a picture of my office. You can barely see the sign, and the snow plow people have built up a pretty respectable snow pile that is almost as high as the second floor. I haven't gotten up on the roof to measure just how much snow is up there, but if I had to estimate, I'd say 16 inches.

Once again, I will put my thanks out there to what ever diety made it possible that the plane is in a hanger... With it being clear out last night and today, when I checked the temperature this afternoon, it was 6 with a wind chill of -9... Not exactly when I want to me taking care of a frozen airplane.

Gorgeous! I'm glad I don't have to deal with it though!

Those are pretty pictures of the snow covered buildings. Our snow is currently melting creating a nice slushy mess.

It looks all so beautiful! Just WISH we would have so much snow here once in a while!
