Yesterday, was our 10 year anniversary of our first date. We tried to re-create is as close as possible since we are not in the geographical location of where it took place.
First, we went to the hanger. Everyone here gets confused because we have a popular restaurant called "The Hanger" and they all assume we went there for dinner... No, I mean the place where our plane is stored. Our first date started there, so we did too...
Then, we went to dinner at a small "diner" called Donna's. This was an homage to all of our initial dates, which happened in Salt Lake at 2:00 AM at Denny's. The closest we have here in Juneau is Donna's.
Then, we went home and re-created the infamous cake... Well, at least an edible version of the cake. I made A make it, as he made the original. But this time, I gave him the proper equipment to make a cake and talked him through making it. We made a german chocolate cake with the coconut frosting, just like before. And, as before, he frosted it right out of the oven. It was warm and gooey and very tasty.
It was an awesome recreation of our first date and I am very glad to have him in my life.

I had to take a double take when I saw that your post started with "10 Years Ago"...because tonight I'll be posting one with the same title. I got married to my first husband 10 years ago today. Sounds like you had an awesome time with your recreation....I have no desire to recreate my 3/26/99.
It's hard to believe it's been ten years now since you and A got married. I remember the first evening we first met you at the airport with the Pacer after we arrived for you and A's wedding. We could tell he was very much in Love with you and could tell you were both meant for each other. Congratulations and we wish you many more years of happiness and joy together.
DH and I just celebrated our 12th anniversary (of our 1st "date") on March 17th and we will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary this July. I didn't realize you and A had been together so long. Congrats. I'm glad you had a good night.
And we're very glad to have YOU in our lives, too - we have A to thank for that! :)
