Late Halloweener...

Well, I have waited until the last minute to prepare for Halloween. I still don't have any candy. I'll have to go out and see what I can find on my lunch break tomorrow. Hopefully, I don't end up with a whole lot of kids. It always seems like the art of Trick-or-Treating is being lost. Looking back, I don't remember more than 5-10 kids showing up for candy in like the last 5 years. So, I'm not sure just how many we'll get here... I guess I could ask my neighbor. They've lived here for a while now, so I think they would know... It's the same for my parents. My family has always gotten enough candy to fill my mom's HUGE tupperware bowl and I remember that she would let us pick first, to make sure we got some from it. Now, they might get a bag of candy and it'll still be mostly full... And that's giving out 2-3 pieces at a time.

I was going to go as Meg Griffen for Halloween, but I can't find my pink hat... So I don't think I'll be dressing up as anything this year. Normally, I'll wear A's old flight suit and go as a "pilot". It's pretty controversial. It has the old CAF patch on the back (from before they changed their name to "Commemorative Air Force"...) I wore the suit to an office I worked at where some people "of color" worked, and I got some really evil looks from some of them. I think that was the last time I wore it for a Halloween costume.

We usually get way too much, because you just never know how many kids there will be in our neighborhood. Tonight could go either way - the weather is supposed to be nice, but on the other hand, it is Friday night and you know what that means in TX - Friday night football (which probably means we'll get all the older kids AFTER the game-aaarrrggghhh!).
